On 16th February 2016, it was announced for the Japanese version of Cardfight!! Vanguard that the following update on the G Regulation format which will take place from 29th February 2016.

On 16th February 2016, it was announced for the Japanese version of Cardfight!! Vanguard that the following update on the G Regulation format which will take place from 29th February 2016.
G Regulation

- Only cards belonged to G era are allowed. Which they are either:
• Carrying a nation flag on the bottom right corner.
• The card is a Cray Elemental or Touken Ranbu.
• Card which was reprinted in the G era (such as Tidal Assault), the older version of that cards may still be used regardless carrying a nation flag icon or not.
Example: Blaster Blade from TD01 or BT01 can be used as it was reprinted as a Promo card in the G era with the Nation Flag icon.
- Clan mixing is not allowed.
- Fighter's Rule applies.
- Special Deck formatting restriction applies.

• Same as G Regulation rulings except that older trigger cards which was printed printed before the G era (such as Gattling Claw Dragon), can be used regardless carrying a nation flag or not.

Source of Initial News' Updates:-
- A special format of the G regulation tournament that allow you use any older trigger cards that are not printed or re-printed in the G era (those cards which do not have a Nation Flag on the bottom right of the card).
Example:
- In a Kagero deck, you can include Gattling Claw Dragon that's printed in BT02/EB09 despite in a Special G Regulagion format tournament.
- In a Oracle Think Tank deck, you can include Paychic Bird that's printed in BT02/EB05/EB07 despite in a G Regulation format tournament.

- You are able to use any cards that are reprinted when a card is re-printed in the G era.

- Clan Fight format ruling and restriction is used when building a deck in the G Regulation format.
- Any special rules in the Fighter's Rule for deck
forming also applied.
Example:
- You are only allowed to include Jewel Knight, Swordmy in a Royal Paladin deck if all of your Grade 3 cards in the deck has "Jewel Knight" in its card name.
