Cardfight!! Vanguard:
World Championship 2013


The Cardfight!! Vanguard World Championship is back again this year! The competition gets tougher with the new expansions! Do you have what it takes to be the Champion?

Cardfight!! Vanguard World Championship 2013 features Open Regional Qualifiers across the world. These Open Regional Qualifiers will be held between August to October. Winners from each Open Regional Qualifier will proceed to compete for the chance to represent their respective regions at the Continental Championships (North America, Europe or Asia-Oceania) between October and November.

The winners of the Continental Championship will represent their regions at the World Championship 2013 Finals in Japan in December 2013.

All participants in the Open Regional Qualifiers will receive an exclusive promotional card and card storage box.

(i) Open Regional Qualifiers

North America:

Europe:

Asia-Oceania:

Eligibility:
North America:
All fighters living in North America may participate. Fighters living outside of North America may not participate.

Europe:
All fighters living in Europe may participate. Fighters living outside of Europe may not participate.

Asia-Oceania:
All fighters living in Asia-Oceania may participate. Fighters living outside of Asia-Oceania may not participate.

Deck Regulations:
- All English version cards can be used.
- Cards of other languages may not be used.
- Fighters are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished.
- Cards from new expansions are legal to use from the expansion’s release date.

Tournament Structure:
- Double elimination followed by top 8 single elimination.
- The number of rounds for the double elimination will depend on the number of participants (fighters to lose 2 matches will be eliminated).
- The top 8 fighters after the final round of double elimination will advance to the top 8 single elimination.
- The standing of fighters with the same record will be decided by opponent’s match win percentage. (i.e. fighters who played opponents with a better record will be ranked higher).
- 1 game per round.
- 1 round is 20 minutes.

Participation Prize:
- All participants in the Open Regional Qualifiers will receive an exclusive promotional card, PR/0071EN: Graphite Cannon Dragon, and a card storage box.

Top Prize:
North America:
- Top 4 finishers will receive an invitation to the North American Continental Championship.
- Travel fees will only be provided for the top 2 fighters in all Open Regional Qualifiers in North America, except for the Open Regional Qualifiers in Mexico, Hawaii and Pasadena, CA.
- For Mexico and Hawaii, travel fees will only be provided for the top finalist.
- Travel fees will not be provided for any finalists from the Open Regional Qualifier at Pasadena, CA.

Europe & Asia-Oceania:
- Top 2 finishers will receive an invitation to the respective Continental Championships.
- Travel fees will only be provided for the top fighter.
- However, travel fees will not be provided for the top fighters from Germany and Singapore.

Note:
- If a fighter already has an invitation to a Cardfight!! Vanguard Championship or World Grand Prix, the prize will be passed down to the next fighter in the standings.
- Minors will need confirmation from a parent or guardian to earn the invitation to travel.

(ii) Continental Championships

Winners from each Open Regional Qualifier will be invited to compete in the Continental Championship in their respective regions.

North American:

European:
Date: 3rd November 2013
Venue: Germany, TBA

Asia-Oceanian:
Date: 10 November 2013

Japan Championship:
Date: 21 December 2013
Venue: Japan, Tokyo Ryutsu Center, 6-1-1 Heiwajima Oota-ku, Tokyo 143-0006

Eligibility:
- North America/Europe/Asia-Oceania: You will need to receive an invitation in the Open Regional Qualifiers to participate.
- Japan: All fighters living in Japan is eligible to participate in the Japan Championship.

- All English version cards can be used. Cards of other languages may not be used. Fighters are required to use opaque card sleeves so that the back of cards cannot be easily distinguished.
- Cards from new expansions are legal to use from the expansion’s release date.

Tournament Structure:
North America/Europe/Asia-Oceania:
- 4 rounds of swiss draw followed by Top 4 single elimination.
- The top 4 fighters after the final round of swiss draw will advance to the single elimination rounds.
- The standing of fighters with the same record will be decided by opponent’s match win percentage. (i.e. fighters who played opponents with a better record will be ranked higher.)
- The swiss draw and single elimination rounds will be best 2 out of 3 .
- 1 round is 50 minutes.

Japan:
- Double elimination followed by top 8 single elimination.
- The number of rounds for the double elimination will depend on the number of participants.
- 1 game per round.
- 1 round is 20 minutes.
- If the game is not finished when time is up, both fighters will be given a loss.

(iii) World Championship

Winners from each Continental Championship will be invited to represent their regions to compete in the World Championship in Japan.

- You will need to receive an invitation in the Continental Championship to participate.

- The standing of fighters with the same record will be decided by opponent’s match win percentage. (i.e. fighters who played opponents with a better record will be ranked higher.)
- The swiss draw and single elimination rounds will be best 2 out of 3 games.
- 1 round is 50 minutes.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Free Fight
Time:  2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Entry Fee: None

Tournament Structure:
- Free Fight is a format to play simply for fun without competition.
- Participants can go in and out freely during the Free Fight time.
- Fighters will be randomly matched against a new opponent after each match.

Prize:
- All fighters participating in 2 or more matches will receive one PR/0070EN: Shield Knight of the Clouds.

- All fighters participating in 4 or more matches will receive one PR/0069EN: Creeping Dark Goat.

Weiss Schwarz Free Fight
Time:  2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Deck Regulations:
- Cards of all languages may be used.

Tournament Structure:
- Free Fight is a format to play simply for fun without competition.
- Participants can go in and out freely during the Free Fight time.
- Players will be randomly matched against a new opponent after each match.

Prize:
- All players participating in 2 or more matches will receive an English Edition Puella Magi Madoka Magica PR card: MM/W17-PE04 PR 「Fighting Against Fate, Mami」.

- All players participating in 3 or more matches will receive an English Edition Fate/Zero PR card: FZ/S17-PE03 PR 「Master of the Golden Sheath, Saber」.


- All players participating in 4 or more matches will receive an English Edition Sword Art Online PR card: SAO/S20-PE02 PR 「Asuna in the Bath」.

Special guests will be making their appearances at some of the Open Regional Qualifiers, Continental Championships and World Championship. You may stand a chance to play against some of these guests at the Gunslinger Sessions or obtain their autographs during the Autograph Sessions.
